StoreEngine
A white-label online store: one Django API runs a Next.js storefront, a staff admin and a Flutter app, rebranded for each shop from a single settings record.
StoreEngine is a complete online-store platform built to be resold. Every brandable detail (the name, logo, colours, currency, tax and shipping rules) lives in one settings record, so the same code runs a different shop without a fork. One Django API serves a Next.js storefront, a staff admin and a Flutter app for Android.
For shoppers
- Browse, search and filter the catalogue, with product photos, videos, reviews and wishlists
- Check out as a guest or with an account, and pin the delivery address on a map
- Pay by M-Pesa, Paystack, PayPal or cash on delivery; stock is held for ten minutes while the payment goes through
- See prices in shillings at home and dollars abroad, picked from the delivery country, with the exchange rate recorded on every order
- Track orders, or ask the AI assistant (Gemini) where an order is or what's on offer; anything else goes to a person
For staff
- A dashboard of what needs doing today: payments to verify, orders to pack, dispatch and follow in transit
- Orders move from payment through picking, packing and dispatch to delivery, by local rider or DHL Express
- Refunds and returns, with stock credited back exactly once
- Inventory with low-stock alerts, warehouses, suppliers and restock requests
- Coupons, flash sales, abandoned-cart recovery and push notifications to the app and the browser
- A support inbox, sales reports and VAT worked out for each destination
Under the hood
Django and Django REST Framework on PostgreSQL, with Celery and Redis for background work. The storefront and admin are Next.js and TypeScript, and the mobile app is Flutter. Everything runs in Docker, and the test suite has to pass before any deploy.
